Organic Whites

Understated finishes are the key to a relaxed beach house feel.

Loving these simple and stylish interiors
layered in organic mterials and natural textures.
For maximum impact use a subtle palette of
white, pale grey, soft neutrals and rustic wood.

Colour Trend | Blush Pink

Blush PInk

Loving Pink

A Hint of Pink

Blush pink has always been one of my favourite colours but not since the eighties has it been seen so much in decorating. Finally it's shaken off it's sugary image and stands right up there as one of the key fashion colours for the home this season. Whether it's with paint, fabric or accessories, there are plenty of ways you can add a splash of pink to your spring palette. Pick up the tones by pairing pink painted walls with copper or rose metallic accents. Avoid a fussy look by keeping the styling effortlessly simple and clean-lined.

Port Douglas Vacation | Part 2

Aqua Resort Story

Sunshine State

Here are some more photos from last week's holiday to Port Douglas.
The weather was a perfect 29 degrees, the water was warm and the sun was shining.
If you are up that way and looking for some good restaurants you are really spoilt for choice ~
but here's a few of my favourite ones :-
Salsa, Zinc, Watergate and On the Inlet.
I ate seafood every night and was totally indulged with first class dining.
I put on a few kilos but it was well worth it!
I feel very lucky to have such great holiday destinations in Australia.

Port Douglas Vacation | Part 1

Pink Resort Wardrobe

Tropical Paradise

When I turned fifty back in March, my gorgeous and very generous parents
shouted us a trip to Port Douglas for a week.
We just got back last week and I must say
I am feeling very refreshed and relaxed.
We stayed at our usual haunt, the Sheraton Mirage,
and had the most superb holiday, 10 out of 10.
We walked along Four Mile beach, relaxed by the pool,
drank cocktails and ate the most amazing food.
My parents joined us for 3 nights so we had a lot of fun
indulging at the Sheraton's famous seafood buffet!
The Sheraton has just undergone a 43 million dollar makeover
and they have done an incredible job of bringing
what was once a tired looking hotel back to its former glory.
If you heading up that way I couldn't recommend it enough.

Indigo Crush

Bohemian style crush

I'm loving this mini trend that I am seeing for summer
of moody indigo blue in tie dye and bohemian prints.
Not only is it popping up on my radar in swimwear, sarongs, summer dresses and separates
but I'm seeing it in cushion covers and bedlinen.
It's a great look for a beach house and it looks super sharp
when teamed back with crisp whites, warm timber, textured lighting
and a few boho or Moroccan accessories.

The lovely homewares featured above are from Shakiraz Designs.
